Contracted some kind of bizarre fever the other day; all of a sudden at 2:00 in the afternoon I started feeling cold, and by 6:00 I couldn't get warm even with sweaters and a down coat...off to the clinic!
Medicine in Korea is very interesting. I've never had to go to hospital, but whenever I need to go to a clinic they are licky-de-split quick. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor. Anyhow, my fever was so high it seemed to shock him a little, and he proceeded to prescribe not one, but TWO shots! The first one felt OK, but 15 seconds or so after the second one I almost fell over. I'm not entirely clear on what was in those...managed to walk home, and after a hot shower rolled into bed and got some much needed sleep.
The really fantastic thing is that my visit only cost about $5 (including the shots), and my prescriptions only cost about $4. Amazing.
Fine now, and ready to finish my stay in Report Card Hell...this is a special circle reserved for teachers...
